It’s been fun googling myself. Everyone quoting the Star article saying that they’re proud of being a Filipino and everything and saying that “Ohh this kid is so great lalala.” Does a lot for the self-esteem. But hey, my feet are firmly rooted into the ground. I’m not gonna flaunt my win.
But of course I’m gonna use it. What self-respecting self-serving bastard like me wouldn’t?
I’d say I was kidding to appease everyone, but I’m not really kidding. Nor do I want to appease anyone.
You see, this is the problem with getting media and internet attention. People say lots of good stuff about you and they expect you to live up to their expectations. Everyone goes “I hope this kid becomes the Biochemist” or “I hope he continues to inspire” or “I hope he doesn’t leave the Philippines.” Crap.
